Called today it is Sunday and the Operator with marbles in her mouth connected me to an empty unit nobody to answer my questions I hate this hospital
This hospital stinks, went to OR for a procedure was supposed to be called next day nobody bothered.
I went to ER in August 2017 after a fall on the sidewalk, though I had broken my L.Wrist. Doctor exam was scant at best, didn't not large gash on my elbow. Ordered x-rays of wrist, elbow, shouldering a Cscan of my head. L. Wrist was casted and I was given a referral to and specialist. When I called to make appointment was told that they did not take my secondary insurance. I didn't make the appointment, glad I didn't, went to Hand specialist at Stony Brook. Aft review of x-ray I brought with me, exam of my wrist, I was told it was not fractured. In addition to that I wasn't given the results of other x-rays and scan.
I was there in January. ER staff are way too pushy to tell you are going to die if you do not do as you are told. But wait there's more, just wait until they start billing. You will get to talk to someone in Texas/India who definitely will not help you. But wait there's more! while the billing department hides in Texas and refuse to communicate they will then set the Debt Collectors on you. Good luck, if you are not too sick when you go in, believe me they will do their utmost to cause you a heart attack from stress thereafter. Do not confuse Health and Care these two words do not belong together with this hospitals system.
They recently renovated. The facility looks beautiful! Very clean and well kept. The staff are very friendly, pleasant and knowledgeable. They are always very helpful. God bless the good folks at Huntington Hospital.
My husband was a patient on October 6th 2017. He went to the emergency because of a head injury that gave him excruciating head and neck ache. He was waiting 3 hours till the only night shift doctor finally came to see him. He kept asking for pain medication, but only received it 4 hours after we checked in to the emergency. We had the impression that nobody cared. One nurse running around, many other nurses/administrative personnel are giggling by their desk/reception. Disgusting that people asking for emergency care have to wait 4! hours for pain medication. I am guessing that the hospital will get paid for this lousy service either way. If I can I will avoid this emergency room in the future
